The waiting game

Well, here we are in Deal (a small town just outside of Dover) waiting for the all important call from the pilot.

I've always found those news stories about people leaving and being filmed at the airport really uninteresting but then we found ourselves followed by a Channel ten cameraman at Sydney airport on our departure! We felt like posh and becks minus the high fashion and funky haircuts!

The long flight over to London was much better than expected - Lily managed to sleep about 18 hours of the journey and woke only to feed. I wanted to play with her and all she wanted to do was sleep (no drugs were taken). The bassinette on the plane was a tight fit so she had lots of cuddles instead.

Murph had his first swim in the Channel about five hours after arriving in the UK and he was relieved to find the water temp about the same as Coogee. He met with his boat pilot, Dave Whyte, on Sunday and it looks as though he may be setting off for France either this Wednesday or Thursday. The weather is forecast to be good for the next few days and there have been a few swimmers setting off since we arrived - some sucessful and some not.

We'll keep you updated of course and maybe by the next post Lily will be wearing her cute singlet made by Michelle boasting the words 'My dad swam the Channel'.

Lily's Christening

Lily celebrated her christening on 15 July with close family and friends. Despite being a 'little' vocal at the church she enjoyed the day and most of all enjoyed wearing her Collette Dinnegan.
